Handing over the E-Smart to high-flyer Jana Stahl: Gunthard Sommer (l.) and HR Manager Steffen Friedrich.

"I had a super apprenticeship at Schunk," Jana Stahl looks back. "I worked in a lot of departments, got great support everywhere and took on my own customers during my training," says the industrial clerk, who is now working in internal sales for the Mechanical Carbon product area at Schunk in Heuchelheim. There, the Braunfels native now looks after several key accounts as well as the Benelux region.

"Great contribution for Schunk"

Stahl has now been selected by a jury as the best former apprentice of the final year 2021 and is "Starter of the Year". "With this award, we want to recognize apprentices who not only stand out for their grades, but also for their contribution to the success of our company," said Gunthard Sommer, Chairman of the Board of the Ludwig Schunk Foundation. "Both apply fully to you."

As a "starter", Stahl will receive an electric car from Schunk free of charge for one year - initially still a Smart Forfour EQ, which will soon be replaced by a VW ID.3. In addition, she will receive a personal parking space directly at the main entrance to the Heuchelheim site. With the award, Schunk also underscored the high value placed on training at the company, Sommer said. "Continue to be so successful and all the best for your future career."
