Why
- New construction of clinic and operation rooms
- Highest hygiene and aesthetic requirements
- Lack of space for technical equipment
How
- Turnkey solution
- Hygienic air processing
- Controlled distribution of clean air in the operating spaces
What
- Vindur® RoomIn wall cabinet air-conditioning unit
- Vindur® FFA laminar flow hoods with low turbulence displacement flow
Why – the challenge
A leading German plastic surgery clinic is building a new headquarters with theaters for plastic surgery operations. The clinic requires air-conditioning equipment for two operating. As well as providing the low-particle, hygienic air necessary for the safety of patients and personnel in the operating and fulfilling the relevant requirements for operating hygiene, this equipment should also contribute to a pleasant and aesthetic working atmosphere.
In terms of construction, the air-conditioning units must be installed entirely within the operating because there is no space for technical facilities in the building. The necessary outside air is heated and delivered to the operating rooms on site.
How – the idea
The operating room air-conditioning technology is planned to have two components: Vindur RoomIn wall cabinet air-conditioning units in combination with Vindur FFA laminar flow.
The outside air is processed through an on-site air-condition system, fed into the units from the side and mixed with the ambient air of the room. The air exchange rate is 60 m³/h and meets requirements in accordance with DIN 1946/Part 4.
The Vindur RoomIn wall cabinet air-conditioning units are installed in the operating and equipped with casings for an attractive look. Integrated sound absorbers minimize noise levels and contribute to a pleasant working environment.
Vindur FFA laminar flow with low-turbulence displacement flow (TAV) ensure a hygienically optimal distribution of the clean air. These create a clean air zone above the operating space, thus reliably keeping germs at bay and reducing the bioburden in sensitive areas to a minimum.
What – the solution
Vindur® RoomIn wall cabinet air-conditioning units and Vindur® FFA laminar flow
Each operating will be air-conditioned using a Vindur RoomIn wall cabinet air-conditioning unit. Since the air-conditioning units are a mere 40 cm deep, they can easily be installed in the operating rooms despite limited space.
Vindur® RoomIn wall cabinet air-conditioning units filter the warmed outside air that is fed in in three steps (F7, F9 and H13 filters), thus achieving the desired low particle levels. Integrated sound absorbers ensure a maximum noise level of less than 48 dB(A) at maximum flow volumes and thus reduce the noise pollution in the operating room. The air-conditioning units are operated intuitively via the icon-based intelli.4 control system.
The Vindur® FFA laminar flow with low-turbulence displacement flow distribute the clean air over the operating space via an air outlet on the ceiling and ensure the high air hygiene standards with very short recovery times. The clean air zone in the operating rooms each measure 1.80 x 1.80 meters.
