Did you know that there can be 1,000 bipolar plates in a hydrogen truck? If so, you certainly stopped by the "Innovations at your fingertips" exhibition in the Heuchelheim company restaurant last week. For five days, everything there revolved around Schunk materials and their diverse areas of application - touching the exhibits was definitely allowed.
The idea for the small but nice technology event came from the development team for fiber composites. "We wanted to show our colleagues from other areas what Schunk materials can really do - whether they are made of carbon, sintered metal or technical ceramics," says Johannes Koller.
An offer that was enthusiastically accepted by many employees. Not surprising - when else does an employee have the opportunity to see a 3D printer in action, look into the face of an additively manufactured Ludwig Schunk or hold a rotor bandage in his or her hands that is installed in the electric motor of a very popular German sports car brand?
"It was fun!" says developer and initiator of the event Gotthard Nauditt happily. "There were many discussions with interested colleagues as well as food for thought and ideas on both sides. This should definitely be repeated."
