Schunk is showing its support for the home communities in Central Hesse with a donation for social causes. "Most of our active and former employees live in the five communities near our sites in Central Hesse. We are happy when they can benefit from a strong social network in the communities," said Gunthard Sommer, Chairman of the Ludwig Schunk Foundation, at the handover to the community representatives. "This is why we have been supporting the home communities for many years with a donation for social purposes. This is also an expression of the good partnership between Schunk and the communities," Sommer continued.

A total of 20,000 euros will go to the communities of Heuchelheim, Wettenberg, Biebertal, Lollar and Reiskirchen. Marc Nees (Mayor of Wettenberg), Lars Burkhard Steinz (Mayor of Heuchelheim), Jan-Erik Dort (Mayor of Lollar) and Dietmar Kromm (Mayor of Reiskirchen) each personally accepted a check for 4,000 euros for their municipality at Schunk's company headquarters. The municipality of Biebertal also received a donation of the same amount.

In addition, the Ludwig Schunk Foundation is supporting the local AWO associations in Heuchelheim, Wettenberg, Biebertal and Reiskirchen with a donation of 1,000 euros each. Villa Lichtblick, a residential community for people with dementia in Heuchelheim, also received 1,000 euros.

Schunk employs around 3,800 people at a total of six locations in the five communities.
