Information security is of great importance in the automotive industry. Therefore, a cross-company industry standard for information security (TISAX = Trusted Information Security Assessment Exchange) has been defined by the Automotive Industry Association. Schunk Carbon Technology Austria (SCT-AT) has implemented the required standard and passed the certification audit without any deviations.
Why is this certification important for SCT-AT?
Since proof of information security is now a crucial prerequisite for cooperation with customers such as VW, BMW and ZF, rapid implementation of the TISAX standard at the Bad Goisern site was essential. SCT-AT's successful certification demonstrates the company's ability to securely manage and protect confidential information and data.
"With the TISAX label, we have now fulfilled an important requirement of our automotive customers and at the same time improved our information security through numerous technical and organizational measures," says Manfred Pfriemer, commercial director of SCT-AT, emphasizing the significance of the certification.
Integrative approach to implementation
TISAX was integrated as a certification into the existing management system for automotive, rail and environment. Existing Schunk standards, such as the Document Management System (DMS) and the Quentic software for qualification management, were used. The early involvement of the affected areas at SCT-AT and Central IT and the very good teamwork contributed significantly to the successful certification. This integrative approach was mentioned by the auditor as extremely positive.
Numerous technical and organizational measures were implemented to ensure information security. These include, for example, the introduction of security zone management with strict access authorizations, the adaptation of visitor management, awareness training for all employees to increase sensitivity to cybercrime, and the introduction of supplier management to ensure compliance with information security by suppliers.
After Thale, Bad Goisern is the second site in the Schunk Group to be TISAX-certified.
