Started in December last year with an initial meeting, now already in working mode: the purchasers of the US Schunk companies are networking more closely. At the suggestion of Corporate Procurement, they are jointly tackling purchasing projects that are being examined for synergies and possible framework agreements within the USA.
In this context, topics such as tools, printers and multifunctional devices as well as travel services are analyzed with regard to the same requirements and suppliers. Subsequently, it is checked whether global strategies also make sense.
"It quickly became clear at our first American Buyers' Days that the personal exchange is very useful and helps us to make progress on purchasing topics," says Ruben Cabrera, Managing Director of Schunk of North America. "That's why we want to meet in person once a year at a different facility in the USA. In the meantime, we work together online on the various projects."
