Best practice reproducible dew tests specified in LV 124 K-15

Motor vehicles are exposed to a wide variety of climatic conditions in everyday operation. This can also lead to dew formation on electrical components and assemblies, which can cause malfunctions in the vehicle. For this reason, automotive manufacturers and suppliers carry out so-called dewing tests. They are designed to detect potential functional defects at an early stage so that they can be rectified before series production. The climatic conditions for these tests are specified in the LV 124 K-15 test standard, also known as GS 95011-4, VW 80000 or BMW dewing test.

The climatic test chambers of weisstechnik can be equipped for the reproducible performance of the dewing test and existing devices can be retrofitted. The new ClimeEvent series has been prepared for dewing tests by default to further simplify implementation and retrofitting. This increases the efficiency of test laboratories and leads to a safe operation of the standard.

As studio guest we welcome Ralph Theiss, Product Manager Standard of Weiss Technik GmbH. In addition to technical explanations of the challenges in the testing process, Ralph Theiss will also present user cases from the automotive market.
