Course of studies: Business Administration at Dongguk University, South Korea
I became aware of the Global Graduate Program through a recruitment website in Korea. Above all, the challenge and the experience I would be able to gain appealed to me – and ultimately persuaded me to apply. The challenge is to adapt to different environments and cultures. This also allows me to familiarise myself with the different ways of working in different countries and companies within the Schunk Group.
I have already had many opportunities to do this: I started the programme at Schunk Carbon Technology in Korea. There I benchmarked automotive production with other Schunk automotive sites and analysed how carbon brushes could be manufactured more profitably in Korea. My next stop was at the site in Heuchelheim, Germany in the Schunk Sinter Metals division. My task here was to conduct a market study for the Asian sintered metal market. I am currently working in my third position as a project manager at the Weiss Technik division in Taicang, China.
Throughout this time, I have worked with many people from different backgrounds and countries. It was quite interesting to get to know the different perspectives and working methods. I also like the strong focus of the Schunk Group on the future – not only for the company but also with regard to its employees. Everyone can contribute their opinion and work on innovations. That’s what makes working at the Schunk Group special for me.
I recommend the programme to anyone who is interested in working in a global technology group, who wants to learn and make a difference, and who is open to new challenges.
