The Supervisory Board of Schunk GmbH, in close coordination with the Ludwig Schunk Foundation, has decided to appoint Dr. Petra Schmidt as a further Managing Director of Schunk GmbH. Dr. Schmidt will be responsible for the Division Machinery & Equipment as COO within the Executive Board, starting on December 1, 2023.
Dr. Schmidt holds a degree in physics and a doctorate in business administration. Since 2012 she has worked for the Zeiss Group, a leading global technology company in the optical and optoelectronic industry, including in strategy development at Carl Zeiss AG.
Within the Zeiss Group, she also worked in various senior management functions in the areas of post-merger integration, product management and research & development in Germany and the USA. Most recently, Dr. Schmidt was Head of Business Unit X-Ray at Zeiss Industrial Quality Solutions.
Dr. Schmidt has many years of international experience in mechanical engineering and is therefore ideally qualified for her new role at Schunk.
As of December 1, 2023, the Executive Board of the Schunk Group will thus consist of Peter R. Manolopoulos (CEO), Dr. Ulrich von Hülsen (COO) and Dr. Petra Schmidt (COO).
