Hyperscale and high-density data centres employ increasingly powerful servers. As a result, new challenges are emerging due to extremely high thermal loads. IT cooling must be even more powerful and be capable of flexible configuration if required. At the same time, it should offer high energy efficiency and operational reliability. The Vindur CoolCube from Weiss Klimatechnik meets these requirements.
The Vindur CoolCube ventilation unit enables simple, safe and efficient cooling of the new generations of servers. It does not require a raised floor, which makes increasing the capacity of a data centre by adding larger racks straightforward. It can be installed as a stand-alone unit without extensive structural measures. The extensive level of configurability allows the system to be adapted to a wide range of requirements. Since Vindur CoolCubes work independently of each other, they guarantee the greatest possible fail-safety when several units are used.
Powerful cooling with low energy consumption
Vindur CoolCube is a high-performance, chilled water-based climate control system for hyperscale and high-density data centres. Thanks to large-area heat exchangers and air guidance optimised by means of CFD analyses, the system ensures efficient cooling with low energy consumption. The air handling units operate with horizontal air flow. They combine heat exchangers and fans in one housing.
The compact Vindur CoolCubes are placed directly on the wall of the server room and only need one wall duct for the supply air. The heated air is extracted by other air handling units via a return air plenum from the hot aisle containment. These units are placed outside the server room; their maintenance is easily carried out from the service aisle. The chilled water units are perfect for connection to a chiller or central cooling system.
