User Training: Salt Spray Testing
Salt spray tests are among the most complex tests in environmental simulation. What is corrosion and what influences it? How does a salt spray test work, and how can the results be compared?
After an introduction to corrosion, we use DIN EN ISO 9227 to explain how a corrosion test system works and how to conduct a test in accordance with the standard. We take a hands-on approach, operating corrosion test systems in small groups.
Topics:
- Corrosion fundamentals
- Design of a corrosion test chamber
- Performing a corrosion test using the NSS test from ISO 9227 as an example
- Information on the material loss rate
- Hands-on practical exercise (operating the test chamber)
