The VFT fresh-air drying oven, now with an updated design, provides a reliable solution for drying substances that can form an explosive atmosphere when mixed with air. In addition, automated control mechanisms ensure a stable and well-regulated process. The device is immediately ready for operation without the need for separate approval.

The principle behind the drying oven is clear: its pure fresh-air supply reliably prevents explosive mixtures from coming into contact with potential sources of ignition.

Maximum protection and efficiency

The redesigned fresh-air drying oven offers proven safety: the unit dries large quantities of substances in temperature classes T1 to T4 and explosion groups IIA and IIB. To achieve this, the explosion-protected interior (Zone 1) complies with Equipment Group II, Category 2G according to Directive 2014/34/EU. With its uniform temperature distribution and a high fresh-air throughput of 2 m³/min, the VFT fresh-air drying oven ensures consistent and efficient drying.

The pressurised control cabinet requires only 20 l/min of compressed air during normal operation. The PID temperature programme controller JUMO diraTron 104 automatically optimises the control parameters and allows temperature programmes to be stored for repeatable processes. Additional safety features include continuous monitoring of the airflows and an automatic emergency purge of the heater and control cabinet in the event of a fault.

Space-saving and quick to deploy

The fresh-air drying oven has a type examination certificate TÜV 16 ATEX 7810 X and can therefore be put into operation immediately without individual approval. The outer housing meets Category 3G requirements and is suitable for installation in Zone 2. With its compact design, the drying oven is ideal for industrial laboratories as well as development and production areas that process large volumes of solvents.
