This option comprises of a water spray system to automatically wash the walls with water for a user adjustable number of minutes, at programmable points
within a corrosion test cycle. This is required for some automotive standards such as Renault D17 2028 or RNES-G-005 or ECC-1. It is also used when rapid cooling is required for JASO M 609, CCT-1, IEC 60068-2-52 and many other test standards.

Atmosfär test chambers
Atmosfär chambers have been specifically designed for fully automatic testing in accordance with highly demanding laboratory-accelerated corrosion tests which have become increasingly popular in some sectors of the automotive industry. These tests are cyclic in nature and comprise of exposure under controlled and varying conditions of temperature and humidity, with intermittent spraying of a salt solution directly on to the samples under test, from a high level swaying spray bar.
This makes the Atmosfär unique.
CO2 Cooling
Now also available with CO2 Cooling according to EU F-GAS regulation 2024/573
Oscillating spray bar
Oscillating spray bar with magnetically coupled drive system, for compliance with the most demanding automotive test standards.
Smart Control System
7" color touchscreen with intuitive interface. Storage for up to 254 complex test programs.
Remote access via LAN for monitoring and data logging and is compatible with control software S!MPATI from Weiss Technik
Different cooling units from Ambient control
An option of different cooling units from Ambient control (Lite Model) to sub zero at -20 or -40 °C. Water cooled options are also available for sub cooling units where room heat dissipation is an issue.
Psychrometric humidity control
Psychrometric humidity control, for more exacting control of humidity, especially at levels around 94% RH.
Ergonomic design
Low loading threshold for easy loading and unloading.

Insulated Rigid Piping
Two insulated rigid piping duct the atmosphere between the Atmosfär chamber and the Air Temperature Control Unit (ATCU)

Air Temperature Control Unit (ATCU)
The ATCU is a free standing air temperature and humidity conditioning unit. When required to do so by the program being run, the ATCU will automatically refrigerate air to the required, user adjustable, set temperature. This air is circulated to and from the Atmosfär chamber, by an air circulation fan, via insulated rigid piping. The ATCU requires connection to its own 3 phase electrical power supply. Three versions are available, depending on model ordered.
Chamber canopy
The chamber canopy is effortlessly opened/closed using pneumatic cylinders, which are activated at the touch of a button on the control panel. Canopy features a central viewing window to see the samples during test. (Atmosfär Lite only)

Test Space
Corrosion-resistant test chamber made of Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP). With easily accessible salt spray atomizer(s).

Touchscreen Controller
Ergonomically positioned control unit for convenient and intuitive operation. Full-colour touchscreen interface with multi-language function and on-screen graphic of chamber temperatures.

Salt solution pump and flow meter
During salt spray testing, the peristaltic pump draws salt water into the chamber from the separate salt solution tank, so avoiding the need for a gravity fed system. This salt water is delivered, via a graduated flowmeter, to the salt spray atomiser inside the chamber. The speed of the pump is fully adjustable by the user, to allow the quantity of salt solution atomised and hence the fall-out rate, to be precisely controlled. Two pumps and flowmeters are fitted to 2600L size chambers.

Communication port
RJ45 communications port for connection to a local area network (LAN) for logging and remote programming via a computer running optional Ascott software (ACC121).

Oscillating spray bar
The swaying spray bar with a magnetically coupled drive system, is set high up in the centre of the chamber, above the test samples. Multiple spray nozzles deliver the salt solution in a fan shaped pattern, to ensure the test samples are ‘swept’ uniformly, directly on to the test samples beneath from a height of over 1M. The spray bar nozzles oscillate backwards and forwards inside the chamber at a user defined speed to optimise pluviometry for specific test standards.

Psychrometric Humidity Control
Psychrometric humidity control module, for more exacting control of humidity, especially at levels around 94% RH.

Installation requirements.
Water: The air saturator, humidity generator and salt solution reservoir all require separate connections to a continuous, pressurized deionized/distilled water supply of 2.5–5.0 bar (36–73 psi). If ACC42 is ordered the continuous water supply must be pressuried 4.0 – 5.0 bar (58-72 psi).
|
Air: Clean dry & oil free compressed air, 4.0 to 6.0 bar (58-87psi) with 440 Ltrs (15.5cu.ft) per minute flow. Two separate supplies are required, one for the chamber and one for the separate refrigeration unit.
|
Exhaust: 3m (10ft) exhaust pipe is required which should be terminated outside building (see accessory ACC58).
|
Drain: 3m (10ft) drain pipe is required which should be terminated into floor level drain (see accessory ACC58).
|
Operating environment conditions: Indoors, with ambient maintained at +18 to +23 °C (+64 to 73 °F), 85% max RH (non-condensing).
